My primary responsibilities focused on creating realistic models and textures for smaller vegetation assets as well as other natural elements. I provided addition texture support for bushes when needed as well. I worked with tech artists to help troubleshoot and test foliage shaders for Ubisoft's in-house game engine, Dunia. Far Cry 6 hosts a wide variety of biomes across the island of Yara. At the Montreal studio, our core location was the East side of the island, which boasts lush jungles and towering mountains. We also helped out as needed for the other regions, as well as took on the river and ocean biomes.
Overall this was absolutely a group achievement. The amount of co-creation, review, knowledge sharing and support that passed between team members and studios was incredible to be apart of. The FC6 Biomes team was an amazing team to ship a game with.
